| The
philosophy of the Juvenile Diversion Program is to divert youth away
from the Criminal Justice System. This program allows the Prosecutor's
Office to offer an alternative course of action to the families it
serves. Working directly through the Prosecutor's Office allows the
case to be handled at a local level, thus preventing the youth from
receiving a formal court record. |

| The
Juvenile Diversion Program has three objectives: |
- Restore
and support the authority of the parent
- Instruct
parents on how to hold their children accountable
- Monitor
and counsel children on making good decisions
