The Hancock County Prosecutor is responsible for a wide range of legal functions for the County, including:

  • act as the chief law enforcement official in the County
  • review, authorize and prosecute violations of felony and misdemeanor criminal laws of the State of Ohio committed inside the County
  • authorize and prosecute felony & misdemeanor juvenile delinquency offenses
  • represent and advise the board of county commissioners, board of elections and all other county officers and boards
  • president of the county board of trustees
  • member of the county budget commission
  • protection and recovery back of public funds and property
  • protection of county against illegal or fraudulent contracts
