1st half TAX YEAR 2022 real estate taxes are due 2/10/23. Tax bills were mailed January 9,2023.
Here's an easier way to pay your taxes
1st half Mobile/Manufactured home taxes are due 3/1/2023. Tax bills were mailed January 30, 2023.
The Treasurer's office does NOT accept credit/debit cards in the office.
All mail received with a US POSTAL cancellation date of the due date or prior will be accepted without penalty.
Any mail received with a US POSTAL cancellation date after the due date is subject to penalty.
POSTAGE MACHINES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
A 10% penalty is charged on payments received after the due date, except when TAXES are received (not postmarked) within ten (10) calendar days after the due date, then the penalty is only one-half (1/2) or 5%.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HANCOCK COUNTY TREASURER’S OFFICE WILL LIMIT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN OUR OFFICE AT ONE TIME TO 2.
J. Steve Welton, Hancock County Treasurer has contracted with a third party processing company to accept credit card payments for Real Estate and Mobile Home Taxes. PLEASE NOTE THESE TRANSACTIONS CAN TAKE UP TO 3 DAYS TO POST TO YOUR ACCOUNT.
Taxpayers can pay by phone or online through this third party.
To pay by phone, call 1-800-2PAY-TAX (1-800-272-9829) and follow the simple instructions.
Or pay your taxes on-line www.officialpayments.com by entering the jurisdiction code, 4523, and follow the simple instructions.

PLEASE USE THE NUMBER "6" WHERE THE "M" IS IN YOUR PARCEL NUMBER
( for example 61000M001111 would be entered 610006001111)
A service fee will be charged for processing your payment. This fee is charged by the payment processing company and NOT by the Hancock County Treasurer's Office.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE A RECEIPT, PLEASE SEND THE ENTIRE BILL AND A SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE WITH YOUR PAYMENT AND A RECEIPT WILL BE PROVIDED.
THE TAXPAYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY TAXES DUE AND FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL DOES NOT AVOID PENALTY AND INTEREST CHARGES.
